Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 645 (LINC00645) is a long non-coding RNA expressed from chromosome 14, significantly upregulated in malignant gliomas and endometrial cancers. It acts as an oncogene, promoting cell proliferation, migration, invasion, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and maintenance of tumor stemness mainly through the miR-205-3p/ZEB1 axis. High levels are associated with poor prognosis and adverse tumor characteristics, making it a potential therapeutic target and biomarker in cancer management.
Competes with miR-205-3p, functioning as a ceRNA, leading to increased ZEB1 expression and promoting EMT in glioma cells. Upregulation is correlated with enhanced tumor migration, invasion, and proliferation
