Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 658 (LINC00658) is a long non-coding RNA found on human chromosome 20[5][1][7]. It is part of a broad family of lncRNAs that regulate gene expression through diverse mechanisms, including chromatin remodeling, and is implicated in cancer according to general lncRNA research[13][8]. LINC00658 itself has not been fully characterized as a direct therapeutic target, receptor, transporter, or enzyme, and does not have documented drug interactions. While lncRNAs, including LINC00658, show promise as cancer biomarkers and modulators of tumor progression, specific roles and clinical applications for LINC00658 remain to be defined.
lncRNAs can modulate gene expression by scaffolding chromatin-modifying complexes. lncRNAs may act as decoys, guides, or scaffolds for proteins/RNAs (general for this class). Involvement through epigenetic regulation and control of transcription.
