Overview

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 665 (LINC00665) is a lncRNA that regulates tumor cell behaviors such as proliferation, invasion, migration, angiogenesis, apoptosis, and metabolism across various cancer types. LINC00665 acts as a molecular sponge for ~25 miRNAs and directly influences the expression/stability of ten protein-coding genes. Remarkably, LINC00665 encodes a biologically active micropeptide, CIP2A-BP (CIP2A binding peptide), which binds the oncogene CIP2A to perturb the PP2A complex and inhibit cancer cell invasion and metastasis via key oncogenic signaling pathways (PI3K/AKT/NF-κB, Wnt/β-catenin, etc.). LINC00665 is dysregulated in numerous cancers, where its expression correlates with disease progression, poor prognosis, and resistance to chemotherapy. Its unique coding ability and regulatory functions make it a promising biomarker and candidate for targeted cancer therapeutics but its role remains preclinical as of the current literature.

Mechanism of action
