Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 869 (LINC00869) is a long non-coding RNA, not encoding a protein, located on chromosome 1 (genomic coordinates: 1:149,606,333-149,705,716 in the human genome). It has several aliases including FAM91A2 and KIAA0493. LINC00869 is increasingly expressed in tumors such as hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and has been implicated in tumor progression and metastasis, particularly by regulating cytoskeletal dynamics (CDC42–WASP pathway). Gene expression studies and functional enrichment analyses suggest it is associated with processes such as mitochondrial gene expression and cellular energy metabolism. While it has not been reported as a direct therapeutic target, LINC00869 expression is under investigation as a prognostic biomarker in cancer, especially HCC. There is currently no known drug that directly interacts with LINC00869.
Not applicable for drugs, but biological studies suggest: Modulation of cell migration and metastasis through regulation of the CDC42–WASP pathway. Possible biomarker for prognosis and risk stratification in hepatocellular carcinoma.
