Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 882 (LINC00882) is a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) located on chromosome 3q13.12 that does not code for a protein but acts through RNA-mediated mechanisms[1][2]. LINC00882 is upregulated in several cancers, most notably hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), where it promotes cell proliferation, migration, and invasion[1][2][4]. It exerts oncogenic functions partly by acting as a molecular sponge for microRNA miR-214-3p, thereby regulating downstream targets such as CENPM[1][2]. LINC00882 is primarily localized in the cytoplasm, consistent with its function as a competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA)[1][2]. High LINC00882 expression is associated with worse overall survival in HCC and may serve as a molecular biomarker for prognosis, but there are currently no known drugs directly targeting this RNA, and it is not classified as a canonical therapeutic target such as a receptor or enzyme[1][2][4].
