Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 967 (LINC00967)

Long intergenic non-protein coding RNA 967 (LINC00967) is a human long intergenic non-coding RNA (lincRNA) gene, located at chromosomal band 8q13.1. Like other lincRNAs, LINC00967 is a transcribed RNA molecule that does not encode a protein and is situated in a genomic region that does not overlap protein-coding sequences[1][3][5]. Although the precise biological function of LINC00967 has not been thoroughly characterized, lincRNAs in general are recognized for their roles in regulating gene expression, both at transcriptional and epigenetic levels, and can impact pathways relevant to cancer and other diseases[7][9]. There is currently no evidence that LINC00967 serves as a direct therapeutic target (such as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or druggable factor) or that it interacts with any approved drugs.
