Long non-coding RNA AB209630 (lncRNA AB209630) is a polyadenylated noncoding RNA longer than 200 nucleotides that is transcribed by RNA polymerase II and does not encode a protein[3][4]. It displays tissue-specific expression and functions as a tumor suppressor in hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (HSCC)[1][2][3]. Studies have shown that AB209630 expression is notably lower in HSCC cells and tissues compared to normal controls, and that increased expression of AB209630 inhibits cell proliferation, invasion, and metastasis while promoting apoptosis in vitro[1][2][3]. Lower expression of AB209630 in tumor tissue correlates with poorer prognosis in HSCC patients, making it a potential prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target in this context[1][3]. AB209630 is an example of a lncRNA, a class of molecules broadly implicated in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival, and known for their roles in cancer progression and prognosis[3][4][5].
