Target intelligence / Profile preview
Long non-coding RNA LGR4-antisense RNA 1 (LGR4-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA), meaning it is an RNA transcript longer than 200 nucleotides that does not encode a protein. LGR4-AS1, also known as lnc-BBOX1-1, has been identified in genomic studies and is reported to participate in the regulation of gene expression in mammalian cells. LGR4-AS1 is associated with neuroglial biology, immune regulation, and cardiomyocyte function. Like other lncRNAs, its mechanisms of action may include serving as an RNA "sponge" for microRNAs or acting as a scaffold to modulate transcriptional and chromatin complexes, but the precise molecular and physiological functions of LGR4-AS1 remain largely uncharacterized and require further research.
