Overview

Long non-coding RNA receptor tyrosine kinase-like orphan receptor 1 antisense RNA 1 (ROR1-AS1) is a long noncoding RNA (lncRNA), located at chromosome 1p31.3, transcribed antisense to the ROR1 gene. ROR1-AS1 is overexpressed in various cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma and mantle cell lymphoma, where it is associated with advanced tumor stage, lymph node metastasis, and poorer prognosis[2][5]. Functional studies and network analyses implicate ROR1-AS1 in the regulation of epithelial-mesenchymal transition, cell proliferation, integrin binding, Wnt/β-catenin and PI3K-AKT signaling pathways, as well as cytosolic ribosomes and cell substrate junctions[2][5]. High ROR1-AS1 expression is an independent unfavorable prognostic factor in hepatocellular carcinoma and may serve as a biomarker for cancer diagnosis and prognosis[2][5]. It is currently classified as a regulatory non-coding RNA and not as a direct therapeutic target or conventional receptor, enzyme, or transporter. There are no reported direct drug interactions or specific therapeutic agents targeting ROR1-AS1, nor are there established safety concerns unique to this molecule.
