Overview
LNCTAM34A (long non-coding transcriptional activator of miR34a), also called GUARDIN, TP53LC18, and LINC01759, is a long intergenic non-protein coding RNA that regulates the tumor suppressor microRNA miR-34a and thereby modulates p53 signaling. LNCTAM34A helps suppress cellular senescence by acting through the LRP130–PGC1α–FOXO4–p21 axis, contributing to genome integrity and cellular longevity. Its dysregulation has been associated with cancer and possibly age-related diseases, given its role in the p53 network[1]. It is not considered a conventional drug target but represents an important regulatory node in cellular homeostasis and tumor suppression.
