Target intelligence / Profile preview
Jinyinhua refers to the dried flower buds of Lonicera japonica, commonly known as Japanese honeysuckle, which is a staple in Traditional Chinese Medicine for 'clearing heat' and detoxification (Shang et al., 2011, Journal of Ethnopharmacology). It is not a single molecular target but a complex botanical mixture containing diverse bioactive metabolites such as chlorogenic acid, luteolin, and various iridoids (Wang et al., 2016, Frontiers in Pharmacology). These constituents interact with multiple cellular pathways, specifically inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α and IL-6 by modulating NF-κB and MAPK signaling (Kuo et al., 2015). In clinical settings, Jinyinhua is frequently utilized to treat respiratory infections, sore throats, and febrile diseases. Because it consists of hundreds of different molecules, it is classified as a botanical medicine rather than a discrete therapeutic target molecule like a receptor or enzyme.
Multi-component modulation of inflammatory signaling pathways (such as NF-κB and MAPK) and direct inhibition of viral and bacterial replication (Shang et al., 2011).
