Overview

Low-density lipoprotein receptor class A domain-containing protein 2 (LDLRAD2) is a single-pass cell membrane protein belonging to the low-density lipoprotein receptor gene family, containing characteristic class A (LA) domains[1][3][5]. It is encoded by the LDLRAD2 gene, located on chromosome 1p36.12 in humans, and it is primarily expressed at the cell membrane[2][3][5]. LDLRAD2 has been shown to promote epithelial-mesenchymal transition, migration, invasion, and metastasis in gastric cancer cells, functioning in part through interaction with Axin1 to activate the Wnt/β-catenin pathway and possibly through Akt/mTOR signaling in pancreatic cancer[2][9]. No drugs are currently known to interact directly with LDLRAD2, nor is it an established clinical biomarker, but it emerges as a putative molecular target in cancer progression research[2][5][9].
