Overview

LRRC2 antisense RNA 1 (LRRC2-AS1) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) gene that does not encode a protein but is affiliated with gene regulation at the transcript level[1][6]. It is located on chromosome 3 adjacent to the protein-coding gene LRRC2, which is involved in tumor suppression and cardiovascular biology[3][5]. Aliases such as LUZP3, LUZPP1, and LUZZ3P reflect previous gene annotations and related pseudogenes[1]. LRRC2-AS1 has been statistically associated with diseases including glioma susceptibility and schizophrenia in genetic studies[1]. There is currently no evidence that LRRC2-AS1 is directly targeted by drugs, nor is it classified as a therapeutic target. The biological function of LRRC2-AS1 remains unclear, though it may participate in regulatory networks relevant to cell biology and disease[1][6].
