LRRC59 antisense RNA 1 (LRRC59-AS1) is presumed to be a long non-coding RNA transcribed in the antisense direction from the LRRC59 gene locus. Antisense lncRNAs are a diverse class of transcripts often involved in regulating expression of their sense gene partners through epigenetic, transcriptional, or post-transcriptional mechanisms. While many antisense lncRNAs impact cancer biology and cellular processes by modulating their sense gene, there is currently no direct evidence or published studies specifically detailing the function, disease role, or druggability of LRRC59-AS1. Most research focuses on LRRC59 protein, which is an ER membrane protein involved in RNA binding, translation regulation, and cancer prognosis[1][3][5].
