Lung adenocarcinoma associated transcript 1 (LUADT1) is a long non-coding RNA that is overexpressed in lung adenocarcinoma and associated with cancer progression. It promotes tumor cell proliferation and cell cycle progression, at least in part, by binding to the SUZ12 component of the polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2), leading to the trimethylation of histone H3 at lysine 27 (H3K27me3) and transcriptional silencing of the cell cycle inhibitor p27 (CDKN1B)[3]. In nasopharyngeal carcinoma, LUADT1 acts as a competing endogenous RNA to miR-1207-5p, regulating TEAD1 and modulating the Hippo/YAP signaling pathway, thereby promoting cell proliferation, migration, and invasion[2]. LUADT1 is considered an oncogenic lncRNA and a promising biomarker and potential molecular target in various cancers.
