Target intelligence / Profile preview
Lung airspaces refer to the anatomical structures within the lungs that contain air and are critical for gas exchange. These include the bronchi, bronchioles, and most importantly, the alveoli. The alveoli are tiny air sacs at the end of bronchioles where oxygen is transferred from inhaled air into the blood, and carbon dioxide is removed from blood to be exhaled. Their integrity is vital for effective oxygen delivery throughout the body and removal of metabolic waste gases like carbon dioxide. Dysfunction or damage leads to significant respiratory compromise seen in many pulmonary diseases.
