The Luteinizing Hormone Axis involves the regulation of reproductive functions through the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis. Luteinizing hormone (LH) is a key hormone produced by the pituitary gland that acts on the gonads to stimulate ovulation in females and testosterone production in males. The LH/hCG axis also plays a role in cancer, particularly in endometrial cancer, by influencing cell proliferation and invasiveness. Additionally, LH has been implicated in cognitive functions and may serve as a therapeutic target for neurodegenerative diseases.
