Overview

Lymphocyte activation gene-3 protein (LAG-3), also known as CD223, is an immune checkpoint receptor expressed on activated T cells, NK cells, and pDCs. It binds to MHC class II molecules, FGL1, and other ligands, negatively regulating T-cell activation and promoting T-cell exhaustion. LAG-3 is a therapeutic target in cancer immunotherapy and autoimmune diseases.
