Lymphocyte antigen 75 (LY75)

Target
LY75
Molecular classification
Receptor, C-type lectin family protein
01

Overview

Lymphocyte antigen 75 (LY75 or CD205) is a transmembrane endocytic receptor highly expressed by dendritic cells, where it facilitates the uptake and presentation of antigens for immune surveillance. Structurally, it is a member of the C-type lectin family, characterized by carbohydrate binding capacity, and primarily localizes to antigen-presenting compartments. The molecule is notable for its role in cross-presentation, making it a promising target for therapeutic approaches especially in cancer immunotherapy, as antibody-drug conjugates and vaccine adjuvants exploiting LY75 enhance immune recognition of tumors. LY75 is also implicated in immune regulation, inflammatory response, and some infectious and autoimmune diseases[2][3][5][9].
