Integrin Lymphocyte Function-Associated Antigen-1 (LFA-1) is an α/β heterodimeric integrin receptor expressed on all leukocytes. It mediates leukocyte adhesion, migration, and activation by interacting with ICAMs and JAM-A. LFA-1 plays a crucial role in immune and inflammatory responses, including leukocyte emigration, T cell activation, and cytotoxic T cell-mediated killing. Deficiency leads to Leukocyte Adhesion Deficiency type I (LAD I). It is a therapeutic target for anti-inflammatory drugs.
