Overview
Lyn is a non-receptor tyrosine-protein kinase belonging to the Src family kinases (SFKs). It is primarily expressed in hematopoietic cells and plays a crucial role in both activating and inhibiting signaling pathways within immune cells, particularly B cells. Lyn is involved in B-cell differentiation, proliferation, survival, apoptosis, and self-tolerance. Dysregulation of Lyn can lead to autoimmune diseases or myeloid neoplasia. It transmits signals from various cell surface receptors and modulates downstream cascades like PI3K-AKT and MAPK.
