Lysine Acetyltransferase 7 (KAT7), also known as HBO1 or MYST2, is a histone acetyltransferase enzyme that plays crucial roles in DNA replication, transcription regulation, and chromatin organization. It acetylates histones at lysine residues, particularly H4K5, H4K12, and H3K14, influencing gene expression and cellular processes. KAT7 is implicated in various diseases, including cancers like leukemia, osteosarcoma, lung cancer, and prostate cancer, as well as Ohdo Syndrome and pulmonary hypertension. It interacts with proteins like CDT1, Geminin, NLRP11 and Tip60 to carry out its functions.
