Target intelligence / Profile preview
Lysine methyltransferase 2C pseudogene 4 (KMT2CP4) is a non-coding pseudogene related by sequence to the KMT2C gene, which encodes a histone H3 lysine 4 methyltransferase involved in chromatin modification and enhancer function. KMT2CP4 is not thought to encode a functional protein and is not considered a therapeutic target or involved in disease. All descriptions of histone methylation activity, regulation, or disease associations pertain to the functional KMT2C (MLL3) gene, not to its pseudogenes.[1][3][5]
