Target intelligence / Profile preview
Lysophosphatidylcholine acyltransferase 2b, pseudogene (LPCAT2BP) is a genomic DNA sequence that is similar to the LPCAT2 gene but does not encode a functional protein. Pseudogenes such as LPCAT2BP arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and typically lack coding potential, regulatory elements, or essential introns required for the production of an active enzyme. LPCAT2BP has no known enzymatic activity, biological function, or disease association and is not a therapeutic target[1].
