Lysosomal membrane integrity refers to the functional and structural steadfastness of the lysosomal limiting membrane, which is essential for maintaining compartmentalization of acidic hydrolases and ions within lysosomes. This prevents unwanted proteolysis and cytotoxicity in the cytoplasm.
