Overview
Lysosomal-associated membrane protein 1 (LAMP1), also known as lysosome-associated membrane glycoprotein 1 and CD107a, is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein and a major component of the lysosomal membrane. It regulates lysosome biogenesis and autophagy, maintains lysosomal pH homeostasis, and participates in cholesterol homeostasis. It is also a degranulation marker on cytotoxic lymphocytes. Altered expression or dysfunction has been linked to various diseases.
