Target intelligence / Profile preview
LAMP2 is a major lysosomal membrane protein that plays critical roles in autophagy, lysosomal biogenesis, pH regulation within the lysosome, and cellular homeostasis. It exists in three main isoforms (LAMP-2A, LAMP-2B, and LAMP-2C), each with specialized functions. Mutations or deficiency in LAMP2 are associated with Danon disease and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Autoantibodies against LAMP2 have been implicated in focal necrotizing glomerulonephritis. It is also implicated in tumor cell metastasis and exosome biology.
