Lysyl oxidase-like protein 3 (LOXL3) is a copper-dependent amine oxidase enzyme that catalyzes the oxidative deamination of peptidyl lysine residues in collagen and elastin, initiating crosslinking essential for extracellular matrix stability. It plays a role in development, fibrosis, and cancer progression, including EMT and metastasis. It is a potential therapeutic target in diseases such as fibrosis and cancer. Silencing leads to reduced signaling through NFκB/AKT/ERK/JNK pathways involved in inflammation/fibrosis/adipogenesis.
