Maestro heat-like repeat family member 6 (MROH6) is a human protein of 719 amino acids, encoded by the MROH6 gene at chromosome 8q24.3. It contains seven HEAT repeat motifs, structural domains typically facilitating protein-protein interactions. MROH6 is widely expressed in human tissues, with relatively higher levels in esophagus, fetal digestive system, cerebellum, bone marrow, and skin. Although its biological function is not fully established, MROH6 interacts with an array of proteins and is implicated in genetic stability and telomere maintenance, partially due to its interactions and phosphorylation sites. Clinically, increased MROH6 expression is associated with poor prognosis in neuroblastoma, and possibly involved in other conditions such as male infertility and gestational diabetes. There are currently no known drugs that target MROH6, and it is not considered a standard therapeutic target, but it may serve as a biomarker in some cancer contexts.
