Target intelligence / Profile preview
Maestro heat-like repeat family member 8 is a protein encoded by the MROH8 gene in humans. It belongs to the maestro heat-like repeat family, but its exact biological function is not known. The gene has been identified in genome-wide association studies as being associated with hippocampal atrophy in Alzheimer's disease and has alternative spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms. It is not currently considered a therapeutic target as there is no evidence of drug interaction or a defined functional role in key biological processes or disease mechanisms.
