This is not a single molecular target but rather a functional category encompassing various transporters and channels such as TRPM6, TRPM7, MagT1, and the CNNM family. These processes are critical for maintaining magnesium homeostasis, which is essential for over 300 enzymatic reactions, including ATP utilization, DNA synthesis, and protein synthesis.
