Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast" is not a single molecule or target, but rather a general term for agents (usually chemicals such as gadolinium-based complexes, iron oxide particles, or manganese compounds) administered to patients to improve visibility of internal body structures during MRI scans.
