Target intelligence / Profile preview
T1 relaxation time is a fundamental parameter in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) that describes the rate at which excited protons in tissue return to their equilibrium state along the longitudinal axis (parallel to the main magnetic field, B0) after being perturbed by a radiofrequency pulse. Reducing T1 relaxation time enhances MRI contrast by making tissues with shorter T1 values appear brighter on T1-weighted images, thereby improving visualization of anatomical structures and pathological changes.
