MAGUK p55 scaffold protein 4 (MPP4) is a scaffold protein belonging to the membrane-associated guanylate kinase (MAGUK) family, characterized by the presence of PDZ, SH3, and GUK domains[1][3][6]. MPP4 is primarily expressed in the retina, especially at the outer limiting membrane, where it organizes specialized intercellular junctions and helps establish photoreceptor polarity, thought to be critical for retinal cell architecture and function[1][6].
