Target intelligence / Profile preview
MFSD6L encodes major facilitator superfamily domain-containing protein 6-like, an integral membrane protein with twelve transmembrane segments typical of the MFS transporter family[1][3][4][12]. It is predicted to localize in the cell membrane and may be involved in unidentified transport processes or cellular homeostasis. MFSD6L is conserved across species and orthologous to similar transporters in mice and zebrafish[2][13]. Genetic deficiency in MFSD6L can lead to oligoasthenoteratozoospermia in humans and mice, implicating an important role in male fertility[10]. However, its precise substrate, molecular function, and any involvement in therapeutic applications remain uncharacterized, and there are no known drugs or disease indications directly linked to MFSD6L as a therapeutic target[4][12].
