MAP kinase-activated protein kinase 3 (MAPKAPK3) is a serine/threonine protein kinase activated downstream of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) such as p38, ERK, and JNK. As a member of the MAPKAPK subfamily, it acts as an integrative node for mitogenic and stress signals, regulating cellular processes that include gene expression, cytokine production, endocytosis, cell migration, chromatin remodeling, and transcriptional regulation.
