Overview

MAP3K12 binding inhibitory protein 1 (MBIP) is a protein that inhibits MAP3K12 activity, thereby regulating the activation of the JNK/SAPK pathway[1][2][3][5][8]. It is a component of the ATAC complex, which possesses histone acetyltransferase activity on histones H3 and H4[1][2][8]. MBIP is involved in protein kinase inhibitor activity, identical protein binding, and functions in multiple biological processes including histone H3 acetylation, positive regulation of the JNK cascade, cell division, cell cycle, and embryonic development[2][4][5]. It is primarily localized in the cytosol, nucleolus, and nucleoplasm, and does not have known direct drug interactions or established roles as a therapeutic target currently[2][6].
