MARK2 pseudogene 14 (MARK2P14) is a processed or unprocessed fragment in the human genome with high sequence similarity to MARK2, but it does not encode a functional protein. Like most pseudogenes, it is not considered a therapeutic target, does not encode receptor, enzyme, or transporter activity, and is not involved in signal transduction, cell cycle regulation, or known disease processes. While certain pseudogenes can play regulatory roles in transcriptomic networks, there is no evidence that MARK2P14 has such a function. The core MARK2 gene, by contrast, is a serine/threonine kinase regulating cell polarity and microtubule dynamics.
