MARK2 pseudogene 15 is a genomic locus classified as a pseudogene related to the Par-1 family serine/threonine-protein kinase MARK2. Pseudogenes are DNA sequences similar to known genes but typically lack coding potential due to disruptive mutations[6]. While some pseudogenes have regulatory RNA functions or act as competing endogenous RNAs, most do not encode functional proteins and are not therapeutic targets[2][3]. There are no drugs or biomarkers associated with MARK2P15, and it is not implicated as a direct target in human disease. The only established links are indirect, via general functions of pseudogenes, such as regulatory potential affecting related genes[3][1]. The MARK2 gene itself (not the pseudogene) is required for neuroblast migration in the olfactory bulb, but MARK2P15 has no proven protein-coding or disease-modifying activity[1][6].
