Mast cell degranulation mediators are a diverse group of bioactive molecules released by mast cells upon activation. These mediators include both pre-formed substances stored in granules (such as histamine and proteases) and newly synthesized compounds, notably lipid-derived eicosanoids like leukotrienes. The release of these mediators is central to allergic reactions, inflammation, and innate immune responses.
Block histamine H1/H2 receptors, inhibit leukotriene synthesis or receptor binding, inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, stabilize mast cells and prevent degranulation.
