Target intelligence / Profile preview
Matrix-M is a proprietary saponin-based vaccine adjuvant developed by Novavax. It is designed to enhance the immune response to co-administered antigens, thereby improving vaccine efficacy. The adjuvant consists of nanoparticles formed from purified saponins derived from the bark of the Quillaja saponaria Molina tree, combined with cholesterol and phospholipids. It is composed of Matrix-A and Matrix-C fractions, balancing potency and safety.
Activates innate immunity locally/regionally; enhances B/T-cell responses to co-administered antigens.
