Matrix Protein M1 (M1)

Target
M1
Molecular classification
Structural protein, Matrix protein, Viral protein
01

Overview

Matrix protein M1 is a multifunctional, highly conserved structural protein of the influenza A virus. It is the most abundant protein in influenza virions and plays essential roles in viral assembly, morphology, stability, and the regulation of various steps in the viral life cycle. It is a promising antiviral target due to its central role in the viral life cycle and its relatively conserved sequence compared to other influenza proteins like HA and NA.
