Overview

MCF2L2 pseudogene 1 (MCF2L2P1) is an unprocessed pseudogene located at chromosome 3q27.3, between base pairs 186,826,549 and 186,827,337[3][7]. It is related to the parent gene MCF2L2, which encodes a guanine nucleotide exchange factor, but unlike functional protein-coding genes, pseudogenes like MCF2L2P1 generally do not produce proteins[3][7]. While some pseudogenes have been shown to play regulatory roles in gene expression—such as competing for microRNAs (miRNA) or RNA-binding proteins, and thereby influencing the regulation of their corresponding parent genes—there is currently no evidence in the literature that MCF2L2 pseudogene 1 has such a function itself[2]. There are no reported disease associations, biomarker uses, or therapeutic drugs targeting MCF2L2P1 directly, and it does not belong to a major molecular classification such as receptor, enzyme, or transporter[3][4][7]. If you require information about the protein-coding parent gene (MCF2L2), that gene is predicted to encode a guanyl-nucleotide exchange factor which participates in cellular signaling pathways[1]. However, the pseudogene MCF2L2P1 itself is not regarded as a therapeutic target or a biotechnology focus as of current data.
