Target intelligence / Profile preview
mTORC1 is a multi-protein complex that functions as a central regulator of cell growth, metabolism, proliferation, and survival. It acts as an intracellular sensor integrating signals from nutrients, energy status, growth factors, hormones, amino acids, and glucose to control anabolic processes such as protein synthesis and lipid biosynthesis. mTORC1 is acutely sensitive to inhibition by the drug rapamycin.
