Mediator complex subunit 15 pseudogene 4 (MED15P4) is a human pseudogene related by sequence to the MED15 gene, which encodes a subunit of the Mediator complex involved in RNA polymerase II transcription. Unlike the canonical MED15, MED15P4 does not code for a functional protein. Pseudogenes are generally regarded as nonfunctional remnants of genes, though some may have subtle regulatory roles in gene expression via noncoding RNAs. MED15P4 is not considered a therapeutic or biological target. There are no reported drugs, biomarkers, or disease associations directly linked to this pseudogene. The gene is located on chromosome 2.
