Target intelligence / Profile preview
Mediator complex subunit 28 pseudogene 1 (MED28P1) is classified as a pseudogene. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to functional genes but are non-coding and typically do not produce functional proteins. MED28P1 is related to the functional gene MED28, which encodes a subunit of the Mediator complex involved in regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II. However, MED28P1 itself does not encode a protein nor is it implicated as a therapeutic target or disease marker.
