Mediator complex subunit 28 pseudogene 8 (MED28P8) is a computationally predicted or uncharacterized pseudogene. It is presumably derived from the MED28 gene, which encodes a subunit of the multi-protein Mediator complex—a critical regulator of RNA polymerase II transcription. Pseudogenes are non-functional DNA segments resembling their parental genes, lacking the ability to encode functional proteins due to disabling mutations or incomplete sequences. MED28P8 does not encode a functional receptor, enzyme, or protein, nor is it associated with any known disease, drugs, biomarkers, or therapeutic mechanisms. There is no evidence in scientific databases or literature that MED28P8 has any established molecular function, clinical relevance, or role as a therapeutic target.
