Target intelligence / Profile preview
MAGEC1, also known as cancer/testis antigen 7.1 (CT7), is a protein-coding gene and member of the melanoma antigen gene (MAGE) family. It is expressed in a significant proportion of tumors across various histological types but is generally silent in normal tissues except for the testis, making it an attractive target for cancer immunotherapy.
MAGEC1 antagonists are under investigation to inhibit activity of the MAGEC1 protein.
