Melanoma Antigen Gene 1 (None)

Target
None
Molecular classification
Cancer-testis antigen, Transcription factor
01

Overview

Melanoma Antigen Gene 1 (MAGEA1) is a cancer-testis antigen normally expressed only in testicular tissue but aberrantly activated in various cancers. It functions as a transcriptional repressor and promotes tumorigenesis by inhibiting or degrading p53. MAGE-A1-derived peptides can serve as epitopes for T-cell recognition, making it a target for cancer immunotherapy.
