The membrane-associated rapid response steroid-binding receptor (1,25D3-MARRS), also known as PDIA3 or ERp57, is a non-classical vitamin D receptor that mediates rapid cellular responses to 1,25(OH)2D3. It is involved in calcium uptake, cell proliferation, and migration, particularly in cancer cells. It signals through kinase activation and regulation of calcium channels, distinct from the classical nuclear vitamin D receptor (VDR).
